Talk with a partner company in a channel both of you can see.
On any paid plan, an Owner or Admin can share a channel with another company that also uses Intercom Chat. Each company keeps its own copy and its own control of who can read it.
To share one of your channels
- Open Admin, then Shared channels.
- Choose one of your channels and create an invitation. You get a code that works once and lasts 7 days. It is shown only at that moment.
- Send the code to the other company’s Owner or Admin.
To join one that was shared with you
- Open Admin, then Shared channels.
- Paste the code, name the channel on your side, and choose whether it is private or public in your workspace.
What to expect
- What is said on one side is copied to the other as text, under the sender’s name and company.
- Nobody from the other company gets an account in your workspace.
- Files, reactions and @mentions are not copied, so one company never sends the other’s people a notification.
- The receiving company’s own data-protection rules apply to what arrives.
- A copy that came from the other company can never change or delete the original.
- Either company can stop sharing at any time; each side keeps its own history.
